The Quarry's Championship Course has been rated by Golf Digest as one of "America's 100 Greatest" every year since inception in 1994. To this day the Quarry continues to be the only Top 100 Golf Course in the Southern California desert. The Quarry is known for its golf course conditioning standards and is consistently ranked among the best conditioned courses in the country, having been rated higher than Augusta National and Pine Valley.
Rivaling the Championship Course, the Quarry's 10-hole Short Course is recognized as one of the Top 25 Par 3 courses in the world. The unique design of The Short Course allows members to play many of the holes as Par 3's or as Par 4's ranging in yardage from 50 to 380. The strength and character of the Championship Course carry through to the Short Course adding another dimension to the playing experience.
Another unique element to the Quarry Experience is the world class Putting Course. The course's 18-hole layout is rerouted daily and conditioned to the same standards of excellence as The Quarry's Championship Course and Short Course. Many matches have been decided here.
For more than half a century the land The Quarry is on was known as the "Keller Pit", a county mine and gravel pit. Founder, William Morrow, and Tom Fazio, had immense vision for what The Quarry would become. After moving over 1.2 million cubic yards of dirt, installing over 4,000 trees, 80,000 shrubs and cacti the course opened in 1994 and was immediately recognized as one of the top 3 private courses in America.
Since inception, The Quarry has maintained a strict no tee time policy and an unwavering commitment to golf course conditioning standards. These are just two examples of the memberships' commitment to excellence at every level.
